Villa Mille Fleurs, St. Martin ............Be Yourself

For the gay and lesbian traveler, St. Martin/Sint Maarten offers a unique European flavor in a spectacular tropical setting.  Sun, sea and excellent cuisine are hallmarks of this cosmopolitan island, long known as the culinary capital of the Caribbean.

There are over 300 restaurants on this compact island of 37 sq. miles specializing in French, Caribbean and world cuisine.

Known for its cultural diversity with over 100 nationalities represented, gay and lesbian travelers feel welcome anywhere they go.

The island is shared by the French and Dutch-- and both sides of the island have sizable (& very international) gay communities.

Because most night clubs, bars and restaurants are so welcoming of gay & lesbian travelers, you won't find many exclusively gay venues on the island.

With 39 beaches to explore, you may find yourself bar-hopping on Orient Bay or relaxing by yourself on a quiet stretch of Plum Bay.

Clothing optional Cupecoy beach is the main gay beach on the Dutch side. And while Orient Bay on the French side is very gay friendly, you'll usually find the gay crowd up at the clothing optional end of the beach in front of Club Orient.

Whether you're a day traveler on a cruise ship, staying at one of St. Martin's  beach-side resorts or renting a villa with a group of friends, St. Martin/Sint Maarten is a very welcoming island for gay & lesbian travelers.   More About St. Martin
